Yes Ucluelet does have some amazing beaches and more and more couples are saying I DO here with their family and friends. Szymon also does amazing Wedding Photography.

In the last few years Ucluelet has been identified as a small town with some new great restaurants and a variety of accommodations that work with all budgets. The beaches are a little more rugged but make for a great backdrop for those storytelling pictures. I find out from my couples if they would like some pics with the sandy expanses of beach that we are know for on the West Coast, if so we take a short 15minute drive to the Wickaninnish Beach in the Pacific Rim National Park.

I have seen a selection of different ideas on this, Dan and I made a magnet with a sunset pic of the beach we planned to get married on with the wedding date. Easy to make, cheap and not too expensive to mail abroad and could also be placed on the fridge as a friendly reminder. A close friend of mine sent “A Message in a Bottle with sand and shells”, you can tie  it into whatever your theme is.

Others pay good money and wish to witness a wild West Coast Storm that will rattle your bones and make you gasp in wonder!

Kyle and Crystal were married @ Christ Community Church with all of their friends & family wishing them the best. Kyle is 3rd generation of a local family and had his favourite spots to share with crystal, one of which was Amphitrite Point. This is the backdrop they chose to have Derek Cruikshanks work his magic and capture their guests and the beautiful West Coast for their Wedding Pictures.

Crystal looked absolutely stunning, Cara @ Cobella hair salon did a great job with not a stray hair escaping throughout the day.

Crystal loves Red Gerberas and Sandra from “Flowers by Sandra” did all of the flowers for the bridal Party and the table Centrepieces for the Wedding Reception at the Ucluelet Community Centre.

Jeni Christie put together an another amazing creation. Her Wedding cakes are keeping her busier than she had imagined and each new one offers her a new challenge. She can bake you the most delicious cake with different flavours in different tiers and dress it up to fit right in with your Decor theme. Absolutely Decadent!

The dinner reception was held at the new Ucluelet Community Centre with fresh baked salmon to tie in the West Coast Theme.  It was a lot of fun helping you both plan your Special Day and get to know your family in the process….

Who will rule?

Up in the Air

Is this not the best fun wedding picture? I know, they seem to be a trend now. To do “The up in the Air Shot”  but it is relaxed and gives you an inside look at the fun couple and their Wedding Party really enjoying their time with the photographer. Now this photographer is from Tofino and is very good at getting you to go the extra mile and do things that you might not think you would do. These guys had so much fun they were almost late for their ceremony; they had gone before it to take some fun shots..

I am not normally too keen on the couple taking their pictures prior to the ceremony as I feel that the magic moment of ” The Look of Love” can be lost. I feel that it is part of my job as a good Wedding Planner to make sure that the photographer is in the right spot to catch that moment when the Groom sees his Bride for the first time all dressed and walking towards him. It is a moment unlike any other they will share together–she is vulnerable and beautiful and hoping with all of her heart that she takes his breath away!

Ease...

Chris and Christina really wanted to spend as much time as they could with their family and friends who had traveled so far to share this day with them. So they decided to meet early to take some fun Bridal Party pics leaving them visiting time right after the ceremony. It did not take to much convincing from me to still have that moment of sheer unadulterated Love caught by Michael Farrow with his Canon. Chris waited alone for Christina on Chesterman’s Beach and needless to say was speechless at that magic moment and knew he was marrying his one true love.

I had been working with Chris and Christina for over a year on ensuring that their special day went of without a hitch and that their guests would join them in their love for Tofino!
